Here is an excerpt of my Pre-Planning Checklist that you will receive when you order the Home Construction and Building Guide... ___ Location of proposed building site views from site and condition of surrounding houses. ___ Check survey for easements, encroachments, and all surveyor notes. ___ Check deed restrictions. ___ Shoot grade to estimate amount of fill needed and/or if the site has a drainage problem. Check drainage of surrounding sites. ___ Conduct a soil test. Check for the existence of water and the rate of rise of water.
